AI Credits Explained
Understand how AI generation credits work and how to make the most of them.
What are AI Credits?
AI credits are charged in dollars based on token usage when you use AI Chat. Your wallet balance shows exactly how much you have available to spend on AI features.
How Credits Work
Token-Based Pricing
AI Chat costs are based on tokens (pieces of text). Complex prompts and longer responses cost more than simple ones.
Typical costs:
- Simple command: ~$0.01-0.03
- Complex behavior: ~$0.05-0.15
- Multi-step workflow: ~$0.10-0.30

Credits included with your Pro subscription that reset each month.
Important: Monthly credits reset and do NOT roll over to the next month.
Wallet Top-Ups
Add funds to your wallet that never expire.
Top-ups are charged to your existing payment method.
Auto-reload: Enable auto-reload to add $10 automatically when balance drops below $5.
Credit Usage Priority
When you generate a behavior, credits are used in this order:
Monthly Credits First
Your plan's monthly credits are used first. These reset at the start of each billing cycle.
Top-Up Credits Second
Once monthly credits are depleted, top-up credits are used. These never expire.
Maximizing Your Credits
Use Builders for Common Features
Builders don't use any credits! Use them for:
- Welcome messages
- Moderation commands
- Reaction roles
- Ticket systems
- Any standard feature
Save AI Chat for Custom Behaviors
Use AI Chat for unique, specific behaviors that Builders can't cover. This is where AI shines and credits are well-spent.
Be Specific in Prompts
Write clear, detailed prompts to get it right the first time. Poor prompts may require regeneration, wasting credits.
✓ Good: "When someone joins, send 'Welcome [username]!' to #welcome and give @Member role"
✗ Vague: "make a welcome bot"
Checking Your Balance
You can always check your wallet balance from your VibeBot dashboard:

What Happens at $0 Balance?
AI Chat Blocked
When your wallet balance reaches $0:
- Your existing bots keep running - they're not affected
- AI Chat is blocked until you top up
- All 37+ Builders still work (always free!)
- You can edit existing behaviors (free)
- You can deploy and manage bots (free)
- Top up your wallet anytime ($10 minimum)
